Another great review by Samantha Antuna! :)
For a great review that will help you on your test, check out Samantha's corkboard; great job!

Proper Review for Final Exam thanks to LisaMarie
The corkboard review project was not meant to be a review of a few vocabulary words. Studying 15 words, will not help you review the content to master Spanish 3. I liked LisaMarie's corkboard review, as it had a review of the advanced grammar concepts as well as some vocab. Check it out for a proper review of these concepts. Great job, LisaMarie!

********Discussion Board- Please make corrections.*******
Many of you have posted an incorrect answer to #5, that asks what the foreign language requirement is at your college of choice/where you're going. In doing my own research at each of the institutions you have mentioned, almost EVERYONE is incorrect. Number 5 is not a GUESSING question. You actually need to look it up.
If you don't want to, that is fine, but your grade will reflect it. If you want ALL your points, you need to check it out. It doesn't matter what degree you're going for...foreign language is considered a "basic course" to all college degree plans. Some schools require 2 semesters, and some require 3 or 4 semesters. It just depends where you go.
Sooooo...look again, or look for the first time, and post back to your original posting to get all your points. :)

**************TWO deadlines this week! Mark your calendars
This week you have your 1st couple of deadlines of Module 3. MAKE THOSE DEADLINES!!! I want you guys to go out with a bang! :)
This week's deadlines are:
***Note: The Discussion does require a teensy bit of research if you're going to college. Investigate where you want/are going to go to college and find out how many semesters of a foreign language that institution requires. This can usually be found on the college website. :)
This week's deadlines are:
- Wednesday, 4/24- Rosetta Stone Check, 10 lessons (100 points)
- Friday, 4/26- Module 3 Discussion (20 points)

Many deadlines this week!!!!!!************************
So you have NINE things due this week...I guess that's why you had no deadlines last week, to give you 2 weeks to get this stuff done. Be diligent this week. There will be NO EXTENSIONS GRANTED.

Missing class; missing work
It's hard coming back from 2 weeks of almost nothing to 2 weeks of a lot! A lot of you are involved in sports and academics and remember you are a student-athlete...student comes first...you do not have extensions. You know when you compete and when you will miss school for school activities. Your work must be done in advance. Athletes/Extra-curriculars do not get extensions, so be mindful of your due dates and when you'll be missing class, so that you don't get behind.

Taking You on Your Word!
Many of you wrote in your technology assignment that you would do your best to work ahead when possible. As you experienced, there are some weeks with only 1 or even no assignment due. Then...there are some weeks with 7 activities due!
I see that many of you have worked ahead and started completing things not due until March...YEA! This is what I'm talking about! Way to stick to your word. ;)

"Why are you grading in advance of the grade check?"
I sent a grade report to the campus teacher letting them know who was working ahead, so she knows if someone really is "all done." But it was not calculated into the point total, so no stress! :)
If you have finished all your RS for the module, YEEHAW!!!! :) If not, no worries, the deadline isn't for another week and a half. :)

****New Rules for Submitting Assignments
In the past, you have been allowed to text or email your assignments. This has caused a lot of issues with lost assignments and frustrating and time-consuming for everyone.
From now on, you MUST submit your Guthrie Virtual School assignments in the submission area on the Guthrie site. Anything sent by text or email will not be graded. This is much safer, because if there is an error, or I don't receive it for some reason, we are able to trace in the system if you logged in, attempted to submit or trace where your submission went.
If you are completing something on Prezi or Glogster or Vocaroo, send the link to view in the submission area and that is it. This eliminates the risk. YEA! No more submission frustration. :)

Bienvenidos! :) Read before beginning
Bienvenidos
Hola and howdy everyone! I'm Mrs. Church and I will be your instructor in this course. Please read my class rules below to help eliminate confusion in the class. Make sure you watch your deadlines and are turning in your assignments on time. Your grade in this course is determined by a 50/50 split with 50% of your grade coming from your Rosetta Stone lessons that are completed and 50% of your grade coming from your GVS assignments that are completed. If you come down to the wire and only have time for 1 thing and you have to choose between something worth 5 points and something worth 100 points, always go with the assignment worth more points. :) I'm looking forward to a very successful semester.
Feel free to call/text/email if you have any questions. My number is 972-352-0333. I can also Facetime, Tango (which is like Facetime, but better, because you don't have to be connected to Wifi for it to work), and Skype. My Skype ID is hola.mrs.church
Good luck ninjas! :) -Mrs. Church
Class Rules
1. Please let me know when you are absent due to illness. It makes a difference in your grade when I see you haven't logged in and worked, unless I know you were absent due to an illness, (absences due to extra-curricular events don't count; see below).
2. If you are absent due to an extra-curricular event, it is expected that you still turn your work in on time. The schedule is posted with the district and you are aware in advance of your absence, (and of your assignments), so work ahead, or work from home, but finish it on time...that is what makes a true student-athlete. School must come first.
3. I post your grades with your campus teacher every week, usually on Mondays. Check with your campus teacher and make sure you are where you should be with your grade. If you feel there is an error, let me know right away so we can get it checked. Remember, this is a REAL CLASS and it DOES AFFECT U.I.L. ELIGIBILITY.
4. Please submit your work the way it is asked for. If I ask to turn it in by email, then please email. If I ask to turn it in on the GVS site, please turn it in that way, because I won't be searching anywhere else for it, and I want to make sure you get your credit.
5. Be inquisitive! If you don't understand, please ask questions. I'm here to help you! :)
